Expand Your Web Site’s Typographic Elements!

Smashing Magazine has posted an article by Cameron Chapman listing a plethora of  tools to use for creating, utilizing, or embedding fonts into your web pages and/or blogs. The fact that web text depends on the viewer’s installed fonts gives web typography a very limited number of options. Chapman states that there are about 12 “web-safe” fonts that you can use with little to no worry. Not a great variety. Well, not to worry, there are tools out there, many open source, that skirt this dilemma by working around the problem. Yet, these tools have certain drawbacks, as well as benefits, and you should choose based on your applications and audience.
